Although the terminology may vary depending upon which part of the country you live in, Recruitment (or Rush) is a very exciting time of the year for us. It is a time when we get to know about you: your unique characteristics, talents, interests and anything else that you would like to share with us.
This is also a great opportunity for you to get to know about us, too. Throughout the process we hope that you are able to see the diverse activities that each Kappa is involved in. During the first night of Recruitment we will inform you of our Philanthropic events (see our Philanthropy page). Each fall we host Kappa Kasino to raise money for the Iowa Heart Connection. We set up the first floor of our house with Black Jack, Roulette, Poker tables and host teams to participate in the games they choose.
Friday night of Recruitment will be a great opportunity to view our beautiful house. Located on 34th Street, the old Anderson Erickson mansion hosts approximately 40 women who are able to call it their home.
Saturday, Preference Day, is a time to strengthen the bonds with the Kappas that you were able to get to know throughout the week. We are excited that you have continued to show interest in our house and hope you will find a fit perfect for the qualities you hold of the utmost importance.
The whole experience is unique for every woman who goes through Recruitment and we encourage you to ask questions throughout the week in order to find a sorority most suitable for you.
